Networking: What is it Good For?

Some people fight to hold on to the ideal that success is found by what you know and do and not by who you know. I can understand. I'm a proud individual often unwilling to admit that my successes have come most commonly from the opportunities or experiences I've had because of who I know. Over the last year I've found success from partners I work with, people I met through Linkedin, and contacts I've made from both of those.

Then I think about how much people I'm close to have impacted my decisions and realize that again my success has been impacted by knowing smart people who give me great advice. People like my father, my brother, Ben Peterson, Ryan Sanders and a whole handful of others. So networking, what is it good for? Absolutely everything!!!

BliggyBank

One of my close partners is starting a new company, BliggyBank.com. BliggyBank is supposed to be a blog service where you can donate, via paypal, to a blogger's account to incentivize them to post on your pitch/idea. I think this is a great idea and as a new blogger hoping to build a larger readership I think this is ingenious and as soon as it become available I'll be signing up to do some work with them.

Relationships and Partnerships

Tomorrow I have a training meeting with my team and I'm going to have one of my account reps speak to our team about what he expects from an advertiser and how an advertiser becomes a priority account for him including his likes/dislikes and how he would approach someone like himself if he were an advertiser. I thnk this will be really helpful and will give my team insight into how to approach a partner to build a strong and lasting partnership.

Noah is a great partner and I'm glad that I get the opportunity to work with him. He is smart and is really helpful.
